MEET KORI SALAZAR
As a one-year incumbent on the City Council with an MBA, Kori Salazar is committed to fostering thoughtful community growth while ensuring prudent financial management for a prosperous Castle Pines future.
Values and Commitments
Thoughtful Growth
Maintain the integrity of the lifestyle, natural beauty, and safety of Castle Pines while attracting businesses that contribute to a sense of community.
We can attract business investment in Castle Pines through offering financial incentives, streamlining regulations, fostering a strong local business network, and promoting the city's unique assets.
Our safety is supported by the Douglas County Sheriff's office and South Metro Fire District.
The city has a full-time Parks, Recreation, and Open Space director to maintain and improve our green spaces and trails.
Smart Financial Management
Promote a fiscally conservative position in the decisions of the council and work within the budget to not increase the tax burden.
I have met with the city accountant to review the city budget and continue to review the budget regularly. I earned an MBA this year so I could better understand financial and capital management. I also read Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell and his principles guide my decisions on budgeting and policy questions.
Small Town Hospitality
Strive to be a city of excellence in all we do and how we serve.
I believe our city can maintain its small town feel to make it the small town gem surrounded by several mid-sized cities. We can do that through serving our residents, future investors, and local businesses using the ideas of Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara.
We are all neighbors here.
