Which do you prefer and why?
My philosophy is the less government intervention, the better.
The government in the US was designed to respect the dignity of persons by offering a hand up, not a handout.
It wasn’t meant to create dependency, aka the nanny state, which causes many more problems than it purports to solve.
There is often a disconnect between policy purposes and the reality and consequences they create.
The best book I have read on this is Thomas Sowell’s Basic Economics.
What I believe and what I support as an incumbent council woman-
Grow thoughtfully
Budget wisely
Be a good neighbor
