Did you know the city mitigated 255 acres of city open space for wildfire prevention?
There were also opportunities for residents and HOAs to apply for grants for wildfire mitigation.
City Council identified wildfire mitigation as a high priority and authorized 255 acres of mechanical mitigation in city open spaces to be completed in 2025, with only 10 acres left to be mitigated.
While we all live the privacy the gamble oaks provide, they are flammable trees.
The mitigation was done so that there were mosaics of oaks spread out throughout the open space, providing easier pathways for wildlife.
What questions do you have about wildfire mitigation?
